Don Duyns
Don Duyns schrijft voor film, theater en televisie. Duyns is een van de meest gespeelde Nederlandse toneelschrijvers. Zijn teksten worden gespeeld bij gezelschappen als Vis à Vis, Het Filiaal en Oostpool. Voor het RoTheater schreef hij onder andere de succesvolle producties LANG EN GELUKKIG, SNORRO en DE GELAARSDE POES, die alle drie ook zijn verfilmd, onder regie van Pieter Kramer.
Naast werk voor de grote zaal schreef en regisseerde hij onder andere de intieme lunchvoorstelling GROETEN UIT DEN ILP, over het leven van de kunstenaar Anton Heyboer en SLOOPKOGEL. Zijn werk wordt in vertaling o.a. in Frankrijk en Griekenland gespeeld.
Naast zijn theaterwerk schrijft Don scenario’s voor film en televisie, waaronder afleveringen van de serie HERTENKAMP, REGELS VAN FLOOR, en de films BANNEBROEK’S GOT TALENT, JUFFROUW POTS en PINKSTERPRINS. Ook heeft hij verschillende boeken geschreven, waaronder BUIGEN en de verhalenbundel HET LELIJKSTE MEISJE VAN DE KLAS. Al zijn theaterwerk (meer dan 100 stukken) is gepubliceerd bij uitgeverij IT&FB. In 2019 won hij samen met Pieter Kramer de Prosceniumprijs.
Hij doceert op de schrijfopleiding van de HKU te Utrecht, aan de Filmacademie te Amsterdam en is scriptcoach voor diverse film- en theater-projecten. In 2027 verschijnt zijn nieuwe novelle 'Harold & Eva', bij Querido.
Naast zijn werk als auteur is Duyns ook schilder/ tekenaar, en (heel soms) acteur, bijvoorbeeld in de series van Wim. T Schippers.

Don Duyns writes for film, theater and television. Duyns is one of the most frequently staged Dutch playwrights. His plays are performed by companies such as Vis à Vis, Het Filiaal and Oostpool. For RoTheater he wrote the successful productions LANG EN GELUKKIG, SNORRO and DE GELAARSDE POES; all three have also been adapted into films, directed by Pieter Kramer.
In addition to his work for the main stage, he has written and directed the intimate lunchtime performance GROETEN UIT DEN ILP, about the life of the artist Anton Heyboer, and SLOOPKOGEL. His work is performed in translation in countries such as France and Greece.
In addition to his theater work, Don writes screenplays for film and television, including episodes of the series HERTENKAMP and REGELS VAN FLOOR, and the films BANNEBROEK’S GOT TALENT, JUFFROUW POTS and PINKSTERPRINS. He has also written several books, including BUIGEN and the short story collection HET LELIJKSTE MEISJE VAN DE KLAS. All of his theaterwork (more than 100 plays) has been published by IT&FB. In 2019, he won the Proscenium Prize together with Pieter Kramer.
He teaches in the creative writing program at the HKU in Utrecht and at the Film Academy in Amsterdam, and serves as a script coach for various film and theater projects. His new novella, Harold & Eva, will be published by Querido in 2027.
