Ellen Parren (1987) graduated from the Toneelacademie in Maastricht in 2009. In 2013, she joined the music theater collective Circus Treurdier.

Ellen has appeared in various television series, including HET GOUDEN UUR, TREURTEEVEE, MISSIE AARDE, and the successful KLEM (BNNVARA). She has also acted in films such as BILLY by Theo Maassen and DE ZITTING by Saskia Diesing and Lykele Muus. Ellen received a Golden Calf Nomination for her leading role in the short film IK BEN GEEN ROBOT by Victoria Warmerdam. At the 2025 Oscars, I AM NOT A ROBOT wins the award for best short film.

She is also active as a screenwriter. Alongside Jan-Paul Buijs, she wrote the NTR Kort! film DE BEGRAFENIS VAN DE VERLEGEN MENS. In a collaborative effort, she co-wrote TREURTEEVEE seasons 1 and 2. The first and second seasons were nominated for the Kees Holierhoek screenplay award. The second season of TREURTEEVEE received a Golden Calf nomination for Best Television Drama.
