After film studies at University in Utrecht and photography at the Royal Academy of Art, Hiba initially found her way onto the set as a set photographer. There, she connected with people who knew how to make films, which eventually led to the creation of her second short film—and from there, things began to take off.

Her work grew with a mix of short and mid-length films, which garnered attention at both national and international film festivals. Along the way, she earned several nominations, including a prestigious nod for the Golden Calf. In addition to her work in film, Hiba also ventured into directing commercials, further expanding her creative reach.

As her experience grew, she seamlessly transitioned into directing television dramas, working on series such as DE MANNENTESTER (Videoland), SUSPECTS (Videoland), SWANENBURG (KroNCRV), and DERTIGERS (BNNVARA).

Currently, Hiba is directing six episodes of a drama series centered around the theme of “secret love,” produced by Pupkin for BNNVARA. The series will be broadcasted in 2025.
