Max Porcelijn’s first feature film, PLAN C, won two Golden Calves at the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF): one for Best Supporting Actor and one for the screenplay, which he wrote himself. With his debut film, Max gained significant international attention. Renowned agency WME approached him, and he won another award, the Best Screenplay Award, this time at the Austin Fantastic Fest.

At the same festival, his second film DE GROTE ZWAEN premiered, and once again Max’s work was nominated for an award (Best Film).

He has directed series such as PENOZA, KLEM, RANDOM SHIT, VAN DER VALK, TRECX, SLEEPERS, and JACKSON & MALONE.

In 2025 AMSTERDAM EMPIRE premiered, of which Max directed three of zeven episodes. This past year he has been directing a new Netlix-series: THE QUIET
