Ruben van der Meer(1970) pursued his acting education at the prestigious Herbert Berghof Studio in New York. He gained recognition through the program LIVE OPGENOMEN, which he co-created and presented alongside Horace Cohen. A successful follow-up to this was their comedic programs FRØLAND and FRØLIVE. Ruben was part of the team of DE LAMA’S and the comeback under the new name: TAFKAL.

He played roles in various feature films, including the blockbuster ALLES IS LIEFDE. Ruben took on his first leading role in the film PLAN C. With this role, he won the Best Actor Prize at the San Marino Film Festival and received a nomination for Best Actor at the Dutch Film Festival. Ruben was also seen in feature films such as DE MASTERS, J. KESSELS, and DE GROTE ZWAEN. Subsequently, he appeared in the Dutch comedy film BILLY and various television series: PAPADAG, BAANTJER: HET BEGIN, RUDY’S GROTE KERSTSHOW, VLOGMANIA, TEN MINSTE HOUDBAAR TOT, HET KLOKHUIS, and appearances in multiple seasons of LAST ONE LAUGHING.

His first own feature film BADSLIPPERS was released in cinemas in February 2026 and available to stream on Prime Video.
