Writer’s Inc
Writers’ Collective Writer’s Inc. was founded by a quartet of screenwriters from the Netherlands Film Academy. They embrace challenges and comprise creators with diverse visions and styles. Their ambition: “to create fresh, recognizable, and challenging series, both for us and for the audience.”
Writer’s Inc. has scripted an Amazon Prime series under the direction of Achmed Akkabi. Currently, the team has embarked on the long-awaited DE GRIEZELBUS series, in collaboration with Topkapi Films.
Writer’s Inc. consists of:
Lasse Feijen (1998): Developed a passion for film at a young age when the horror books he read inspired him to write his own scripts. After the preliminary course at Open Studio, he enrolled in the Film Academy. Since then, he has explored multiple genres and styles in both fiction and documentary. Lasse’s preference is to intrigue the viewer, telling stories with horror and suspense while addressing topics with societal urgency. He wrote and directed the short film ECHO, received a Best Scenario nomination for MET DEZE RING at the 48 Hour Amsterdam, co-wrote the short science fiction film CELLULOID, and wrote the script for the graduation film DEMI in 2020.
Lorans Al Dandachli (1993): Flashy, comedic, and fearless. Lorans likes to push the boundaries of the human experience in his stories and often manages to make people laugh. His work includes the web series M <3 M and the award-winning 48H MOEDERSKINDJE.
Gabriel D. Calvo Nencel (1992): Enjoys writing about characters who are outsiders and must prove themselves, often combined with the theme of identity. Gabriel has struggled with his own identity due to societal treatment. By thoroughly researching identity, he views his characters from an intersectional perspective to bring out the best in them. Born in Peru and raised by a Jewish-American mother, he has a deep love for these cultures. Gabriel aims to write about them and make film and TV inclusive and recognizable for the Latinx and Jewish communities. He writes a lot of drama/coming of age, but another significant love of his is combining crime/thriller/comedy. Gabriel has written for season two of NOOD (NPO/Pupkin Film).
Dajo Leunge (1993): Has always had a great love for cinema and the endless possibilities of storytelling. He approaches each project as a challenge to try something new. Dajo does not limit himself to one genre but enjoys playing with different genre elements to give each story a fresh, surprising perspective. He focuses on stories for children, young adults, and twenties, often revolving around coming-of-age themes. In these stories, Dajo often writes about outsiders—preferably with a dark, immoral edge—struggling with their place in the world. His recent work includes the Film Academy graduation film DONNIE MOUNTAIN, for which he won the AVROTROS Scenarioprijs and the Kees Hoelierhoek Award, the Filmfonds Short BERENKLAUW, based on his childhood, and the queer vampire film WIJ ZIJN BEESTEN for Videoland.
